Seven Steps to Stagnation Small Group Pastors
Seven Steps to Stagnation Small Group Pastors: "Sometime in the 1980’s Rev. Erwin M. Soukup (Archdeacon of Chicago) compiled “The Seven Steps (sayings) to Stagnation”:
1. We’ve never done it that way before.
2. We’re not ready for that.
3. We are doing all right without trying that.
4. We tried it once before.
5. We don’t have money for that.
6. That’s not our job.
7. Something like that can’t work."

The Case for/against SharePoint | End User SharePoint
The Case for/against SharePoint | End User SharePoint: "The bottom line: all our work and knowledge base is self-doucmenting and available to customers and strategic partners. It sure beats trying to keep these same folks updated with email and teleconferences. The biggest frustration with our site was that the site search function was unreliable, but we found out that this pertained to the way our ISP host site installed sharepoint not any inherent flaw.

When Online is Better than Face to Face
When Online is Better than Face to Face: "For an increasing number of tasks, a well-managed website is much better than a human being at helping you get the job done. Sometimes it's a mix. You go online and do a bunch of stuff on your own and then you get some online help to do some more."

Make the Second Mile Second Nature

@ PurposeDriven.com: "When Christians stop counting their steps and start looking for opportunities to go the second mile, they form relationships with others built on honor, dignity, and respect. Through those encounters Christ transforms us and fulfills the promise of Proverbs 11:25: “He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”"

Why Moralism Is Not the Gospel -- And Why So Many Christians Think It Is
Why Moralism Is Not the Gospel -- And Why So Many Christians Think It Is: "The deadly danger of moralism has been a constant temptation to the church and an ever-convenient substitute for the Gospel. Clearly, millions of our neighbors believe that moralism is our message. Nothing less than the boldest preaching of the Gospel will suffice to correct this impression and to lead sinners to salvation in Christ."
Acts 29 >
Acts 29 >: "What does discipleship look like at Immanuel? 'No one needs to stand alone,' says Ray. 'That means, of course, a network of small groups. But something else we do is called 'Three-on-one.' At a low level of visibility, so that no one feels awkward, we quietly arrange for three adults to take on each teenager in the church, to befriend, to pray for, to go to their sports events or plays or whatever. We want everybody feeling loved.'

Christian Standard Interview
Christian Standard Interview: "So multisite is playing a vital role in taking the church to its next expression.
Multisite approach is an important element that sets the prevailing church up to implement and experience more rapidly multiplying approaches that don’t currently exist. Couple that with the new scorecard of the young emerging leaders and you have a perfect storm for future transformation. I’m convinced we’ll look back a decade from now and see that the multisite approach played a vital and critical role in the models that will emerge in the coming decade. It’s possible one of the most important contributions multisite will make is in the mind-set of our leaders to become more reproducing at all levels within the church. ."

Confessions of an Aca/Fan: Archives: The Message of Twitter: "Here It Is" and "Here I Am"
Confessions of an Aca/Fan: Archives: The Message of Twitter: "Here It Is" and "Here I Am": "But a smart company goes further. We are hearing stories of companies that scanTwitter looking for references to their products and reaching out to consumers to respond to their concerns. In some cases, consumers get quicker and fuller responses to their problems because they posted these problems on Twitter than they get calling the customer service department."

apophenia: Twitter:
"I vote that we stop dismissing Twitter just because the majority of people who are joining its ranks are there to be social. We like the fact that humans are social. It's good for society. And what they're doing online is fundamentally a mix of social grooming and maintaining peripheral social awareness. They want to know what the people around them are thinking and doing and feeling, even when co-presence isn't viable. They want to share their state of mind and status so that others who care about them feel connected. It's a back-and-forth that makes sense if only we didn't look down at it from outter space. Of course it looks alien. Walk into any typical social encounter between people you don't know and it's bound to look a wee bit alien, especially if those people are demographically different than you."

The business ecosystem presented in a form easy to interact with so that it can grow and expand in new ways/opportunities.

Firefighters need wide range of preparation
"When that alarm rings, the clock starts. Depending on the situation, many lives could be on the line, therefore time is precious. It is the firefighter's job to stay ready because every second counts! Once the firefighter arrives at the scene, he or she may be called upon to climb a ladder, rush into a burning building and/or carry someone of like size to safety. Some fights are short, some last all night or longer, but all are intense."

"I realized that every company is now a media company. It doesnât matter if it makes network gear or diapers, every company needs to publish to its various communities, its customers, its staff, itâs neighbors. It needs to know how to produce compelling content, great video, podcasts, etc. And now with this emerging two-way Internet it also needs to learn how to listen, how to get involved in online discussions, how to behave on Facebook or Twitter. Every company needs to master the media technologies of RSS, blogging, and more."
